Piloting at Arroyo Elementary 🌳
RoomParent is being piloted with classrooms at Arroyo Elementary, in partnership with room parents, teachers, and the PTA. We want to make the room parent job easier while building the school's own policies into the product, so doing the right thing is also the easy thing.
Parent accounts are completely free. The only money that ever moves through RoomParent is a voluntary donation you choose to make to your own child's classroom.
School policy, built right in
Food-free birthdays
No food or gift bags for individual birthdays at school. Arroyo suggests donating a book or game instead, and our wishlist puts the Birthday Book Program one click away.
Healthy, purposeful celebrations
Class celebrations are planned with the teacher, mindful of cost, health, and inclusion, and never excessively elaborate.
Confidentiality first
Volunteers sign Arroyo's confidentiality agreement. Other students' academic, behavioral, social, or emotional information is never discussed here.
Official channels stay official
The principal and teachers communicate through ParentSquare, and PTA news comes through the weekly e-blast. RoomParent handles classroom logistics and nothing more.
A note on privacy 🤫
Family contact information stays opt-in. Other families see class-level progress, never individual donation amounts. And every child's name goes on the class card, regardless of contributions.
